Teeth Whitening

If you want to make a big splash with a brand new smile, teeth whitening is a great option. Most of us notice that, as we grow older, our teeth yellow or become stained and discolored. At Mark Johnson, DDS, we offer a couple of different teeth-whitening solutions to help whiten and brighten your smile.

We love offering teeth whitening to our patients because we know it can truly make a difference in your confidence. After your teeth are whitened, you’ll probably catch yourself smiling and laughing far more often!

Opalescence Boost

We use the Opalescence Boost teeth whitening system because of the many benefits it provides to you, our patients. This system whitens your teeth safely and gently, making it especially great for those who have sensitive teeth. In fact, the gel we place on your teeth can actually strengthen your enamel!

Because it’s chemically activated, Opalescence Boost doesn’t require you to sit uncomfortably under a light or heat, waiting for it to work. Unlike over-the-counter products, this prescription strength whitening system will produce dramatic results that can last for years.

The In-Office Teeth Whitening Process

Changing your smile with teeth whitening is a quick, simple procedure. First, we’ll prepare your teeth to receive the Opalescence Boost gel. We then apply the gel, which contains nitrate and fluoride.

The gel will penetrate and saturate your teeth, whitening them without the need for light or heat activation. Using this gel, it only takes about an hour to whiten your teeth. Then, you can leave our office with a fresh, new smile!

Take-Home Whitening Trays

If you prefer to whiten your teeth in the convenience of your own home, we also offer take-home trays and gel. The trays we create for your teeth are customized to you, so hey fit your mouth perfectly and are comfortable to wear.

The gel we will provide is professional-grade and completely safe. Once at home, you’ll place the gel in the trays. When the trays are placed on your teeth, hydroxyl radicals work to whiten your discolored teeth.

This process is much more effective than whitening strips because every part of your tooth is covered in the gel, and each tooth is whitened. Many patients like the gradual nature of this whitening process. It usually takes ten to fourteen days to complete the treatment, but many start to notice a difference in just three to five days.
